Dahlak Restaurant is a modern take on east African and Middle Eastern food fusion.

Appetizers

  • Veggie Injera Roll:- Spinach, Carrot, and Dahlak alcha
  • Beef/Chicken Injera Roll:- Marinated chicken or beef with chef spices, onion, bell pepper and zucchini
  • Red Beet Salad:- Steamed red beet marinated with lemon juice and with chef sauce. Served with mozzarella cheese
  • Soup of the day:- Please ask your waiter for chef's daily special
  • Hummus Dip:- Served with pita bread and fried onion
  • Dahlak Experiences:- Slowly cooked beef cubes served with hummus and  pita bread

House Salads

  • Caprese Salad:- Cucumber, yellow bell pepper, red pepper, feta cheese, fresh basil leaves, and kalamata olives
  • Chicken Salad:- Romaine lettuce and bell pepper sautéed with Chicken thighs, onion and anise flavor (Spicy or Mild)
  • Red Beet Salad:- Steamed red beet marinated with lemon juice and with chef sauce. Served with mozzarella cheese
  • House Salad:- Cucumber, tomato, red onion, parsley, olive oil, and poached egg. Served with tahini dip

Mains: Dahlak Traditional

Eritreans and Ethiopians make traditional bread called injera. When served with an Eritrean/Ethiopian meal, injera serves both as your platter and utensil.

  • Vegetarian combo platter:- Cabbage, carrot, lentil, spinach, shero, bamya, and salad
  • Shiro Dish:- Ground chickpeas cooked with onions, ginger, garlic and berbere served with homemade injera and salad
  • Dahlak Style Alcha:- Carrots, zucchini, herbs, onions, garlic, jalapenos and green beans served with side salad
  • Dahlak Zilzil Tbsi:- Strip of tender beef or lamb marinated with special dahlak sauce and sautéed with onion, fresh garlic and jalapeno pepper
  • Awaze Tibsi:- Lean beef or lamb cooked in homemade red sauce (awaze), Dahlak butter, herbs, onions, garlic, and jalapenos
  • Tsaeda Tibsi:- Lean beef or lamb cooked in Dahlak butter, herbs, onions, garlic, and jalapenos
  • Dahlak Tibsi Combo:- Your choice of Tibsi assorted with four veggie items (Dahlak Alcha , Spinach, Shiro, and Lentils). Serves up to two people
  • Kitfo:- Raw beef tartare seasoned with Dahlak herbal butter. Ask your server if you would like it to be served as rare, medium rare or well cooked

 

Mains: Dahlak Mediterranean

  • Mediterranean Wrap:- Liver, Heart, Spring Chicken cooked with onion and chef spices served with house salad or fries
  • Mediterranean Dish:- Liver, Heart, Spring Chicken cooked with onion and chef spices served with pita bread, side salad and tihini sauce
  • Fasulye:- Slowly cooked white beans, onion, diced tomato, eggplant, bell pepper and chicken thighs with bone served with rice
  • Spring Chicken:- Chicken cubes sauteed with onion, garlic, chef spices, bell pepper and mushroom served with rice and side salad
  • Bamya Dish:- Bamya (okra), onion, diced tomato, garlic, and beef served with rice
  • Shakshuka:- One skillet veggie meal cooked with onion, red pepper, diced tomatoes, bell pepper, garlic, jalapeno and eggs served with bread

 

Breakfast

  • Fulmedames:- Fava beans, shredded eggs, fresh onion, tomato, feta cheese, sesame oil served with pita bread
  • Frittata Eggs:- Bell pepper, mushroom, onion, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese served with bread
  • Kitcha Fitfit:- Traditional kitcha mixed with homemade flavored butter, berbere, jalapeno, and yogurt on the side
  • Omelette Wrap:- Onion, mushroom, parsley, carrot and bell pepper served with tortia and side salad
  • Muesli Yogurt with Fruit :- Apple, Banana, Strawberry and granola served with maple syrup
  • Zugit:- Four choices from olive tapenade, feta cheese, sundry tomatoes, avocado, cream cheese, pesto, sour cream, tihini, hummus, house salad, two yogurts with fruit, two eggs served with bread
